Sister Club Testimonials

Sister Clubs

Being a sister club has generated a real sense of excitement among our GEMS and counselors to "Dream God's Dream" and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

When asked to pick a service project this year, many of our girls wanted to reach out to the girls in our sister club and help them earn their badges. Our older GEMS sent personally made Bible bookmarks to remind our sisters just how much God loves them.

As believers, we are all God's children. By being a sister club, our girls and counselors have felt that sense of family and have taken it to heart by learning to love and pray for their sisters in Christ.

God is doing a mighty work in the hearts and lives of hundreds of girls and women in Zambia and we as a club feel privileged and blessed to be used for His purposes and glory.

Being a sister club to Crossfields Ministries in Zambia has been great for the Sunnyside GEMS Club.  Our girls have enjoyed writing letters to their "sisters" in Zambia.  We do one fund raiser each year to earn the money to support our sister club.

Our girls stay involved by writing letters, sending hygiene packs, and buying supplies for the Zambia GEMS girls with the points they have earned throughout the year. Our horizons have expanded past our community to the world, and we plan to continue our partnership with Crossfields Ministries.

The girls adored their Zambian sisters…I could tell by the way they reacted when I would explain how much the Zambian girls truly mean it when they wrote "I love you." Every single one of our GEMS now wants to meet those girls just as much as the Zambian girls would like to meet their Canadian sisters. For now, video and pictures will have to do.

But I really think the sister club program has instilled in the girls here at home a more comprehensive knowledge of the world around them and the global issues which they will have to confront in the future. It's allowed them to look beyond themselves and appreciate what they have. The GEMS sister club program has not only brought together sisters from across the world, it has planted seeds of compassion.
