Mukuka Kapinda was eleven years old and in her fifth grade at the time she fell sick she was suffering from meningitis and was admitted at the general hospital for three weeks where she latter died. The girl had a passion for God’s word. She joined our club in August 2008 and remained a very committed member who never missed any meeting.

Her parents don’t go to any church and the father was against her attending GEMS club meetings. One day Ethel met her being pursued by her father with a rod who wanted to beat her up for coming late from GEMS. Thank God she rescued her.

The day she died all the girls held an overnight of praise and worship at the funeral house. In the morning, they went to church and decorated the church in readiness for the church service for Mukuka’s burial. Girls paraded along the aisle on both sides with lit candles they continued singing worship songs as the coffin was being taken to front by six girls..

It was a marvelous occasion and a turning point of her father who stepped in the church for the first time. He has since surrendered his life to Jesus. When spoken to, he confessed he was humbled by his daughter’s testimony. May God bless GEMS International for your tireless efforts in bringing souls to the Lord for you aren’t only reaching out the girls but parents as well.On our way to the grave yard, two girls curried a banner with the following inscription; ‘I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE. A REWARD AWAITS ME.’ MHSRIP."
