Wheaton College is easily accessible from a variety of major travel routes, here are some detailed driving directions:

From O'Hare International Airport
Wheaton College is located 25 miles southwest of O'Hare International Airport and is approximately 30 miles northwest of Midway International Airport. A one-way drive, depending on travel and traffic conditions, will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Cars leaving the airport exit to the east. Keep in the right lane to turn south on I-294. *Stay on I-294 south some distance to I-88, also called the East-West Tollway. Take I-88 to I-355 North. Exit I-355 north on Roosevelt Road. Go through Glen Ellyn. When you get to Wheaton, go to Presidents Street. Turn right (north) on Presidents Street, and follow the directions on the next page.
From the North:
Take I-94 south and follow the signs for I-294 south, past O-Hare airport. Continue with directions From O'Hare International Airport.*
From the South
Approaching Chicago from the southwest on I-55, just beyond Bolingbrook, take I-355 north. Exit at Roosevelt Road to the west. Stay on Roosevelt through Glen Ellyn. When you get to Wheaton, go to Presidents Street. Turn right (north) on Presidents Street, and follow the directions from Presidents Street.
From Midway Airport
Leaving the airport, turn north onto Cicero Avenue and proceed to the I-55 South on-ramp. Continue by following directs From the South.
From the Northwest
Approaching Wheaton from the northwest on I-90, turn south on I-355 at Schaumburg. A few miles south, exit west on Roosevelt Road. Stay on Roosevelt through Glen Ellyn. When you get to Wheaton, go to Presidents Street. Turn right (north) on Presidents Street and follow the directions from Presidents Street.
From the East
East-West I-80/90 becomes I 80/94 as you cross from Indiana into Illinois. Continue on I-80 West to I-355 North. Exit I-355 at Roosevelt Road west (which is a left run at the bottom of the exit ramp). Stay on Roosevelt through the town of Glen Ellyn; when you get to Wheaton, go to Presidents Street. Turn right (north) on Presidents Street and follow the directions from Presidents Street.
From Presidents Street:
Turn (north) on Presidents Street to Harrison Ave. Turn left (west) to Fischer Hall. Follow the signs to Registration.
Shuttle Options
Airport Shuttle Service
The Local Conference Committee will be providing shuttle service for a discounted fee of $25.00/trip to and from both O'Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport for all attendees who register and request this service. Airport shuttles will be available on both Wednesday and Thursday as requested on your Travel Confirmation Cards or the online Travel Confirmation form.
Other Transportation Options, Car Rental/Shuttles
There are many car rental agencies available within O'Hare or Midway International Airports as well as taxi-cab services, and several transportation shuttles that you could take advantage of. Please note that the average single fare for taxi-cabs or shuttles generally ranges around $60+ for a one-way fare. The negotiated, special rate that the Local Conference Committee is offering is a significant discount.
Amtrak Shuttle
The Local Conference Committee will also offer shuttle service to/from the Amtrak station for $10.00 round trip. Please fill out the appropriate information on your travel confirmation card or the online Travel Confirmation form to request this service.
Making Flight Arrangements
Incoming Flights:
The GEMS Conference will officially begin with dinner at 5:00pm on Thursday, July 12 followed by the Women's Night of Worship at 7:00pm. Please note that the last Local Conference Committee sponsored shuttle to arrive in time for the Women's Night of Worship will depart O'Hare or Midway International Airport at 5:30pm on Thursday.
Return Flights:
The Conference will end at 11:30am on Sunday, July 15. Please allow 40-50 minutes for travel time from Wheaton to the airport and 1 ½ - 2 hours for security and check-in when scheduling your return flight. Note: there will be NO return shuttles to the airport before the close of the Conference! Sorry, no exceptions!
Travel Confirmation Card/Shuttle Schedule
Travel Confirmation Card and Confirmation Booklet will be mailed to you upon receipt of your mailed or online registration form. This form must be completed in order to finish processing your registration. The Local Conference Committee must receive ALL Travel Confirmation Cards no later than May 31, 2012 in order for airport shuttle service to be arranged. Upon receipt of your travel confirmation you will be assigned to a shuttle for pickup from the airport. By mid-June, 2012 you will receive communication with your shuttles time, pickup location, and any additional information you may need.
