Pine Cone Artby Christina deRidder

Pinecone Wreath

What You Need:

• Pinecones (approximately 10 – the number needed will vary depending on the size of
the cones)
• Heavy duty paper plate (a strong plate with a 1-inch flat rim)
• Paint and paint brushes (if desired)
• Raffia
• Scissors

What you Do:

Step 1: Cut out the inside of the plate leaving the outside rim intact. Paint brown if desired.

Step 2: Using a piece of raffia secure a pinecone to the plate. Wrap the raffia around the pinecone at least two times and tie a knot at the back.
Step 3: Continue working your way around the plate tying one pinecone at a time until the plate is full.
Step 4: Using about 10 pieces of raffia, tie a bow at the bottom of the wreath.

Pinecone Place Card Holders

What you Need:

• Pinecones (as many as you would like to make)
• 10 inches of 16-gauge wire per place card holder
• Wire cutter
• Pieces of paper (We used colored and white paper)
• Pen

What you Do:

Step 1: Wrap the wire around the top of the pinecone two times. Make sure that the wire is secure.

Step 2: Starting at the other end of the wire, use a thin marker to guide the rest of the wire to form 2-3 small circles.
Step 3: Make the wire circles stand up on top of the pinecone.
Step 4: Design the place card using pieces of paper. We cut the colorful paper into a 2-inch square and glued a 1-inch square of white paper on top (step not pictured). Write the guest’s name on the place card. Place the card in the wire circles of the pinecone holder.
