Project Steps:
STEP ONE: Get Educated
Did you know that most animal shelters rely on donations to keep their programs running? Most shelters are in need of towels and animal bedding. Call your local shelter to find out which materials they need. Not sure where your local shelter is? Check out this link to find one near you!
STEP TWO: Summer Cleaning
Clean out your family’s closets. Save old blankets, towels, comforters, and sheets. Animal shelters rely on donations of these items for keeping the shelters clean, drying the pets after their baths, and making soft beds for the animals. Some shelters even request old t-shirts, bath mats, and fluffy toilet seat covers to make dog crates more comfortable.
STEP THREE: Make the Drop
Call your local shelter and schedule a time to drop off your donations.
By donating household items to animal shelters, you keep these things in the reduce-reuse-recycle loop and keep them out of landfills. You also show that you want to use the resources that God has given you in a faithful and responsible way. |
