The Children's Prayer
Below you will find a prayer that children all over the world will be praying on October 10, 2010. But, be careful not to just quickly read the words. Prayer isn't about quickly saying meaningless words. Prayer is about connecting with God. Your prayer should come from your heart. That might mean you read the prayer below. Or that might mean you pray your own words. The important part of prayer isn't that you say the right words. The important part is that your heart connects with God.

Remember you don't have to stop praying after October 10. You can keep praying about the world's poor even after October 10!

The Prayer...
Oh Lord, our awesome God, hear our prayer.
We pray for children who live in poverty, who go to bed hungry and who do not have a safe home.
Help us provide food to children who are hungry.
Help us share what we have with children in need.
Help us show love to children in fear.
Help us bring peace to children who live with violence.
Dear God, millions of children around the world depend on You and hope in You.
You care for all the children and You want us to care too.
May our prayers and actions today show that children in poverty are not forgotten.
May we make a difference, so that goodness, kindness, and fairness spread around the world.
