We believe that God has a specific call on every woman’s life. And for GEMS counselors, part of that call is to intentionally invest in the lives of the girls in club—to mentor them, guide them, and set a Christ-like example as you seek to show them what it means to have a relationship with the King of kings.

We believe this is done from a place of abundance. So in order for you to intentionally invest in the lives of girls, GEMS seeks to intentionally invest in you. We provide training and resources for you to grow your own relationship with God, to study Scripture and develop friendships with a group of like-minded women (your counselor team), and to feel comfortable and confident leading lessons as you invest in the lives of girls.

Annual Counselors' Leadership Conference

Conference is GEMS premier training event. This three-day experience allows counselors from across the United States and Canada to meet for training, renewal, encouragement, fellowship, and fun. You’ll leave refreshed, encouraged, and full: full of ideas for your season, full of ways to connect with your girls and counselor team, and full of God’s grace and love.

Regional Retreats

We encourage every counselor team to make attending Conference a priority. Nothing can match the level of encouragement and inspiration you receive as you learn and grow with women from all over North America.

But we realize that might not be a reality for you every season. So, a combination of GEMS staff, Leadership Trainers (LT), and Area Coordinators (AC) host Regional Retreats as well. Two or three of these events are planned each year for areas at a distance from the Conference site. These one to two day events will help prepare you for the year with your girls!

ACTS Workshops

ACTS workshops are hosted by your local Area Coordinator (AC) and Leadership Trainer (LT). Each fall and winter/spring a workshop is hosted in your area to introduce new materials and curriculum and to offer new tips, ideas, and motivations for club. These workshops are designed to train, equip, and motivate counselors close to home.
