Who can come to camp?
Girls who have been members of a GEMS Club for at least one year or more and have completed their sixth, seventh, or eighth grade of school by June 2012 may register for Get Connected! Camp. We do have a limited number of space at camp, and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis!
What’s camp all about?
At camp, you’ll start every morning by learning about a new theme. We call them critical life truths. These are the things that matter in your life. We’ll talk about issues and ideas that matter to you. Things you’re struggling with, wondering about, or maybe have never really thought about.
Then, throughout the day, you’ll get to participate in all kinds of crazy-fun activities that help you understand that truth even more. For example, you will get to:
- Go horseback riding
- Tube down the river
- Swim and boat
- Do high ropes and a zip line
- Do team building challenges and a climbing wall
- Attend chapel in the big tent!
- Praise and worship
- Practice archery
- Go on evening wagon rides
- Play beach volleyball
- Learn about orienteering and geocaching
- Have campfires
- Do crafts
- Help with service projects
- Attend nightly gatherings with skits and drama
- And the best: connecting… really connecting with God!
